THIS SUNDAY - 7th JULY 2013 - Mini-Doom-Fest in North London

We've got another appearance at the BOSTON MUSIC ROOM, LONDON N19 5QQ this SUNDAY!!
Incredibly jammy to have landed ourselves a slot with SLABDRAGGER the mighty doom-sludge trio who have recently returned to live action, crazily heavy riff-monsters DIESEL KING and our old muckers in thrash-jazz-doom ensemble THE DAY OF LOCUSTS. From out of town come GREENHORN and TORPOR, both bringing really different takes on the filthy low-end sound we've come to love from these kinda shows!!

Gig this FRIDAY 21st JUNE and Lyric Video for TOTWA

This Friday, 21st June 2013

We play live at MIDSUMMER BASH - 5 band pile-on of heavy, riffmungous alternative metal and grungy beefy hard rock. To be followed by a DJ and much partying.

Doors 7.30pm

CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT ON FACEBOOK

THE DREJ - www.facebook.com/thedrej / www.thedrej.com

Formed out of the hell fires of the Holloway Rock City scene, London, England, The Drej tread the line between Hard Rock, Punk, Alternative and Metal. One minute they deliver a punch to the gut, the next a smooth and loving chorus ready to get stuck in your head. This is a band that really means what they sing. And the passion is felt every time.

CRYBABY DEATHMATCH - www.crybabydeathmatch.blogspot.com

3 Piece band. Alternative rock plus doom rock plus old school heavy metal and punk. Originally formed as Needlebliss in the late 90s when they were still at school in north London, playing rip off music of Iron Monkey at the time. They kept jamming and jamming and listening to a lot of down-tuned blues metal then eventually decided to play some gigs and write proper songs, mixing doom and desert rock vibes with alternative rock, punk and hardcore, a ton of heavy metal and some twisted Motorhead-on-acid style rock n roll.

ARCANE MILITIA - www.reverbnation.com/arcanemilitia

This five piece rock/metal militia have been together only since early 2012, with their music a unique blend of styles ranging from progressive rock, metal and dirty blues swag. Their sound is recognisable with intensely catchy melodic heavy grooves, cut throat vocal, driving rock bass and stomping drums, gut wrenching guitars and the odd solo thrown into the mix. The pure amalgamation of five passionate and driven musicians is evident in their song writing...every member takes an active role in the song writing process. With their musically diverse background and tastes all adding to the creative mix, their songs emerge from their lengthy jam sessions, each unique, yet definitely unified.

DEATH APE DISCO - www.facebook.com/DeathApeDisco

In the bowels of the giant super volcano which wiped out all life on the Earth 10,000 years ago, A skull-shattering power chord blasted forth and shattered... uh... everything's skulls. From the fires of that great metal eruption was born...
Death. Ape. Disco.*
*whilst in no way admitting the above is even slightly untrue, Death Ape Disco is a hard rock/alternative/metal band with elements of grunge and influences ranging from bands such as Black Label Society, Alice In Chains, Tool and Vision of Disorder to Down, Crowbar and Nothingface. Formed in Brighton, East Sussex, in the United Kingdom in 2011 (Shit, I mean 8000BC).
Or as getyourrockout.co.uk said about their latest release 'Supervolcano':
"If you can spare a moment, just a single solitary moment to check out a new band that you may just end up wanting to go and see live, make sure this is that band."

KILL YOUR IDOL www.facebook.com/KillYourIdolUK

Kill Your Idol are a four piece garage rock band from East London, they've played around London for the past year and half, and they've recorded two EP's, influenced heavily by bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters, and The Beatles.

AFTER-PARTY W/ DJ RICKY BOWTELL
from Backlash in London, Mosh at the Beach in Brighton.
with more ROCK, METAL and ALTERNATIVE!

AND NOW A WORD FROM NO SPONSORS

Just to put it on the record once and for all - not that anyone anywhere was asking - while none of us are what you'd call political activists (to say the least)...
Crybaby Deathmatch is proudly ANTI-FASCIST.
That means fascists of all colours and religions, all unquestioning, compassionless jackbooted bastards that would have us all fight one another endlessly because they do not know how else to control the world around them. Clues include the title of our demo Triumph of the Wounded Animal, which is a parody of the Nazi Olympic 'documentary' Triumph of the Will, which you may have heard of if a) you read b) you heard the fuss previously whenever some bonehead metal band was dumb enough to go near it or c) you paid very close attention to the movie Inglorious Basterds.
We're making fun of the bullshit 'master race' preening and pouting that people - and by this I mean people of every race, society and belief - are almost inevitably encouraged to take so seriously when it is patently ridiculous. Or at least... as a person of mixed ethnic background myself, I hope that before long it is universally considered ridiculous! I will write more about this subject and at length, but it's something I wanted to share with you for now. Thanks, Coley

NEW SONG - Cannibal Factory - streaming & download

Yo!
We've posted a new track on soundcloud. Raw in the studio but sounding pretty tight!
Have a listen and hope you enjoy.
ps as I write this, this date marks both Del's birthday (Happy Birthday Delboy!) and the death of Margaret Thatcher, former Prime Minister of the UK, 8th April 2013. There are street parties taking place at various locations around London! But it won't lead to a u-turn on the free market freefall she helped create, so the death of a now politically meaningless old lady isn't in itself enough for me to celebrate. Although I am tempted. More importantly, it's cold outside still.

Also, here's a little youtube picture & audio for Fragile Stars from the demo. My computer is nearly dead so the video just features the picture cover.

SOME RECENT MESSY LIVE AUDIO HAPPENINGS

Here's four tracks from our recent show at Boston Arms Music Room - the big little venue with the best vibe in punk, rock and metal for miles around in north London. Nice cheeky heavy-drinking local show for us.
We've posted them to soundcloud - they're raw as grated knees as they were done on a handheld recorder from the audience in classic bootleg style... kinda like when I used to pick up cassette tapes from Camden Market in years gone by of the latest grunge and metal bands bootlegged by some enterprising hippy types - except the audio on these is probably better than the barely listenable tape I've got of Nirvana/Tad at SOAS in 1991(?). Even if the songs... may not measure up to the greatness of early Niravana. Many thanks to Dan Gough for bringing his recording thingy along and recording it.
Here's a photo my mate Rory took.

We got a really nice write-up for Triumph of the Wounded Animal in HEAVY PLANET's blog. Heavy Planet is a really cool site that features stoner rock/ psychedelic/ doom and sludge and has been going in its current formation for about five years.
